HOPE - Helping Overcome Poverty's Effects in Addison County, Vermont

HOPE is a 501c-3, non-profit, poverty relief agency. It was originally known as the Addison County Community Action Group, or ACCAG. HOPE's offices and food shelf are open Mon-Fri, 9 am-4 pm. HOPE's Resale Store is open Tues-Sat, 9 am-4:30 pm. Addison County Community Action Group, doing business as HOPE, is a non-profit poverty relief organization serving more than 3,000 low income people in Addison County, Vermont every year. Our mission is to improve the lives of low income people in our community by working with them to identify and secure the tools and resources they need to meet their own basic needs. HOPE operates the largest food shelf in the county; provides assistance for homeless individuals; and provides assistance with housing, heat, utilities, medical needs and more. HOPE also operates a large resale store that generates profits in support of our poverty relief programs.

HOPE Helping Overcome Povertys Effects Serving Addison County since 1965 HOPEs mission is to improve the lives of low income people in Addison County Vermont by working with individuals to identify and secure the resources needed to meet their own basic needs. Since 1965 HOPE originally formed as the Addison County Community Action Group ACCAG has been providing a wide variety of programs to low income people. Our offerings are dynamic and flexible responding to meet the evolving needs of our population. Rather than saying this is what we do we sit down with people and ask what do you need.
