🐾 Rapid Tests = Rapid Help 🧪❤️ Every time a dog walks into our shelter, we want answers. Not guesses. Not maybes. Real answers. That's why we rely on SNAP tests—fast, reliable diagnostics that help us treat our animals right away. Each test can mean the difference between quick care and a downward spiral. And also means safety for our current population! When a pup arrives, we test for distemper. ALWAYS. Puppies? Parvo too. Every dog over gets screened for ehrlichia, anaplasma, Lyme disease, and when over 6 months also for heartworm. No exceptions. These tests aren’t just helpful—they’re the reason we’re able to keep our population healthy, stable, and give them a true second chance. And the reason so many trust the doggie they get is as healthy as we can possibly get them! But here's the problem: The way we normally do this—buying a big-as-we-can quantity of tests every two years and shipping them to the U.S.—is now not possible. New import tariffs could make the cost absolutely outrageous. A single distemper test in Mexico can run up to 800 pesos… meanwhile, buying straight from the source can cost us under 100 pesos ($5). But shipping to Mexico is not an option either... We’re working on an alternative route to make a smaller one-year order, bypass the worst of the import chaos, and get the tests here safely. It’s a logistical odyssey—we source from reputable suppliers, ship to a second location, and bring them to us by hand. But it works. And more importantly—it saves lives. We don’t just use these tests for OUR dogs. We share them when it matters most—when a quick diagnosis could save the life of a street dog, a pup with an owner who can’t afford vet care, or a neighbor’s dog we just happen to cross paths with. Right now, we need your help. If you can chip in—$5, $10, $50—you’re literally putting lifesaving answers into our hands. The tests are not expensive per se... donating 5 dollars is an ehr/ana/lym test, 10 dollars is 5 distemper tests, 20 dollars makes for a box of 10 parvo tests... and so on... 💚 Every dollar counts. Every test saves a life. 🙏 Thank you for always standing with us. ➡️ https://paypal.me/islaanimalsresuce?locale.x=en_US (fb)

🗓️ DAY 3: First Paws in the Door We’ll never forget the first dogs that arrived at Oasis—because we were living there with them. In February 2024, after 10 months of hard work and sweat, we moved into the shelter. And when I say “moved in,” I mean there were no walls, no finished doors, no gate, and no paint on the walls yet. Just dirt, construction supplies, and the promise of something great. It wasn’t pretty. Our house part wasn’t even finished—there were no doors separating the shelter space from our living area. But we were ready. The dogs were already there. We couldn’t wait any longer to make this place feel like home for them—and for us. At first, we didn’t even have a proper space to house all the dogs indoors. So, we did what we had to do. We made doors for the kennels ourselves and tried to keep up with the chaos. Almost 20 dogs. No shade. No plants. Just dirt everywhere. It was… mental. 😆 But the thing was, it felt right. Sure, it was rough around the edges. But we finally had all our supplies in one place. We could work more consistently and live in the space that was meant for us and the dogs. It didn’t matter that the walls weren’t painted. What mattered was that we were there, starting to build the life Oasis promised. The first time we saw the dogs run around in their new space was something we’ll never forget. It was like watching a dream come to life—one paw at a time. Do you remember when we shared this chapter of our journey? What were you thinking when we took that huge leap and moved in before everything was “ready”? Share your thoughts with us in the comments. We’d love to hear about your memories from those early days of Oasis—and if you followed our move into the jungle! 🐾❤️ #OasisTurns2 #7DaysOfOasis #FirstPaws #IslaAnimalsOasis #DogRescueJourney #LivingTheDream (fb)
