✨We had a couple of inspiring days with the TMA team, coming together to talk about our current projects and bigger vision for the future. We shared delicious local snacks and meals, strengthening the sense of community and purpose that fuels our work. These gatherings are a chance to pause and realign — to remind ourselves why we do what we do and ensure everyone is on the same page.🌱 🙌We engaged in group activities that encouraged us to share our personal dreams and hopes, fostering openness and collaboration that has grown over time. Each department shared their strengths and pinpointed where they could improve, sparking ideas for future training sessions and skill-building workshops based on what the team is truly passionate about. We also talked about how to enhance our communication — organizing our channels better so we can work more smoothly as one team. 🌳We wrapped up the two days by creating a communal drawing to symbolize our collective journey and where we’re headed next. These moments together remind us that beyond the daily work, we’re a team — and it’s through these connections that we find our shared strength. 🌳Our flagship project is the creation and ongoing management of the Jama-Coaque Reserve (JCR), which was first established in 2007 and now protects 3,000 acres in partnership with the local community of Camarones. 🙌We’re now in the process of rescuing and reviving an orphaned forest preserve—Cerro Pata de Pájaro (PDP)—which covers over 10,000 acres along the same mountain range. It also contains one of the most pristine relics of old-growth cloud forest in all of coastal Ecuador. 🌱We do this through a combination of economic incentives, regenerative agroforestry and other forms of food-positive reforestation, and community-based conservation. Continuing our mission to work with local communities to protect the last remnants of the Pacific Forest of Ecuador and restore as much of this ecosystem as we can. ✨ 📸- All from Pata de Pájaro : 🌳Nuestro proyecto inicio con la creación y gestión continua de la Reserva Jama-Coaque (RCJ), establecida en 2007 y que ahora protege 1217 hectáreas en colaboración con la comunidad local de Camarones. 🙌Actualmente, estamos rescatando y revitalizando una reserva forestal abandonada, el Cerro Pata de Pájaro (PDP), que abarca más de 4000 hectáreas a lo largo de la misma cordillera. Además, contiene uno de los vestigios más prístinos de bosque nuboso primario de toda la costa ecuatoriana. ✨Lo logramos mediante una combinación de incentivos económicos, agroforestería regenerativa y otras formas de reforestación con impacto positivo en la alimentación, así como la conservación comunitaria.
