Wall Community First Aid Squad Inc.
Overview
The Wall Community First Aid Squad Inc. is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to providing emergency medical services to the community of Wall Township, New Jersey. Established in 1960, it is one of two first aid squads serving the area, the other being the Wall First Aid and Rescue Squad.
History
The Wall Community First Aid Squad was founded by a group of concerned residents who recognized the need for additional emergency medical services in Wall Township. On November 15, 1960, seven community members met to discuss this initiative, laying the groundwork for what would become the Wall Community First Aid Squad. Initial support came from Al Shubeck of the Howell First Aid Squad, who provided guidance to the founders. The squad officially began operations in early 1961, with its first ambulance purchased from Howell First Aid at a nominal cost.
Operations
The squad relies entirely on volunteers who are committed to serving the community. Their efforts are supported by donations, which are crucial for maintaining equipment and providing necessary training to volunteers. Over the years, the organization has expanded to include multiple vehicles, including ambulances and a first responder vehicle, housed in a facility that also serves as a meeting and drill space for volunteers.
Community Involvement
One of the squad's first major responses was to a violent boiler explosion at the West Belmar Fire Company, where their skills were put to the test. The Squad continues to play a vital role in emergency response within the community, reflecting the dedication of its volunteer members to delivering essential services to those in need.
Funding and Support
As a nonprofit organization, the Wall Community First Aid Squad relies on community support for funding. Donations are critical for ensuring that the squad can continue to operate effectively, maintain equipment, and provide ongoing training for volunteers. This support enables the squad to maintain its commitment to serving the community without charge for its services.
Legal Status
The Wall Community First Aid Squad is registered as a nonprofit organization with the IRS EIN number 21-7146618.

Yesterday, Wall Community First Aid Squad continued its 2025 CPR Tour with its 3rd stop of the Tour of Wall Elementary School 5th graders, providing training at the Central Elementary School. The students were taught CPR, First Aid for Choking, and the 9-1-1 system. These energetic students gave their all to learn this lifesaving skill. This program which started in 2007 has taught these lifesaving skills to thousands of 5th graders throughout the years in the Wall School District. This program has been possible by the cooperative efforts of the Wall School District and the many members of Wall Community First Aid Squad who volunteer their time for this program. Also through the generosity of LifeForce USA, Inc. and the American Heart Association, who donate the materials to keep the program growing. There is one more stop of the 2025 Tour, next week at the West Belmar Elementary School. Join these 5th grade and become a Hero! Learn CPR, Save a LIFE! (fb)
