The Peacock Foundation

The need for the Peacock Foundation's community services is great: Statistics indicate an upward trend in social anxiety and depression among children and teens. Modern technology is challenging and changing social interactions: Children are losing the ability to build in-person, real-time friendships and relationships.Most of our clients live below the poverty line, find themselves in family shelters or living on the streets, and can be victims of abuse and/or neglect. School is often a struggle, due to the emotional stress of their circumstances. Providing no-cost treatment to more that 200 children a year, our programs are often the first step in changing the degrading path these children are innocently traveling down.We achieve this in a very low-tech way: Our clients learn to communicate and cooperate through animal interactions under the guidance of trained therapeutic professionals. Our foundation's focus is to help children learn, and then adopt social and coping skills so that they can grow into empowered adults and productive members of society.Since our humble beginnings in 2002, the Peacock Foundation has grown to meet the increasing needs of our community: to date, we have instilled hope and provided resources to over 5000 children.
