Since 1992, SAS has helped Massachusetts pets & the people who love them. Our community welfare programs & our shelter help 1000+ pets each year. For 30+ years, SAS has been our region's most important resource for animals. Our mission? To help Massachusetts pets & the people who love them. Annually, our shelter finds homes for an average 500 pets & our humane welfare programs aid thousands more. Since 1992, we have been our region's most important resource for Massachusetts pets. We provide a wide variety of services to help animals and the people who love them, including: a safe, caring environment for stray and surrendered pets, careful placement for an average 550+ animals per year including an average 30% senior or special needs pets, educational outreach, low cost spay-neuter assistance, humane feral cat programs and a pet food pantry program that each year donates tens of thousands of lbs of food and supplies for community pet owners in need.
