Meet Grandma Phat. At 68, she lives in a small Lahu village near Warm Heart with her disabled husband. Life has not been easy. She lost both of her sons in a tragic accident, and until recently, she was also caring for her elderly brother — feeding him, cleaning his home, and changing his diapers every day, all while managing her own health. With little family support and only a small disability allowance to live on, she does her best to stay strong. Grandma Phat takes daily medication and needs to visit the doctor every three months. But sometimes the local bus wouldn’t come, and she’d miss her appointments — or run out of her medicine. That’s where our Access to Care team steps in. “I’m very grateful that Soda takes me to get my medication refilled,” she says with a soft smile.
