#NotesFromTheALTDesk From the desk of Jane Jung, ARTISTIC LEADERSHIP TEAM What's in a name? Come raise a glass with us on June 23rd, as we announce our new company name! When we set out on this Transition Period in late 2022 after Ping and Bruce decided to retire, one of Ping's requests to the company was for us to change the name of the organization. This was out of the recognition that there would be a new generation of artists creating for the Company. At the time, and for many months since then, the new name was a glaring, looming question. There wasn't a clear cut or immediate new name that we all had in our minds. It took many months of an in-depth process with our board, generating pages upon pages of ideas and possibilities, many hours spent parsing out ideas, random texts with brilliant ideas that later became moot, a drumroll plus reveal to Ping and Bruce over coffee, focus groups and now finally a new name that we will reveal at the end of June! PCC had a great time at @communitywordproject ’s Teaching Artist Project Arts-In-Education Job Fair this month! An invaluable space for connecting with brilliant teaching artists of all backgrounds and experience levels, the fair has yielded so many of our current collaborators over the past years. This time, our table was held with care by two outstanding current TAs, Irisdelia Garcia @del.img and Kenneth Keng @kennethbestopped , who shared their experiences working across PCC’s residencies.
