Share your vision. Shape our city. Imagine Boston 2030. Imagine Boston 2030 will define a vision for the future with input from all who live, work and play in our city. In 1973, The Boston Harbor Association (TBHA) was founded to help clean up one of the dirtiest harbors in the United States and to expand and protect access to the harbor. TBHA today is Boston's premiere advocate for open access to the Harbor as well as for a clean Harbor; additionally, we work to help prepare Boston neighborhoods for coastal flooding due to rising sea levels and extreme storm events.

Boston Harbor Association

The Boston Harbor Association is a community-focused nonprofit organization based in the Boston Harbor area of Thurston County, Washington. It was established in September 1972 by a group of nine local residents to address community concerns and promote activities related to education, conservation, and development within the Boston Harbor community.

Purpose

The Association serves as a platform to tackle various community issues such as pollution control, traffic management, housing, and conservation. It actively works towards developing and maintaining recreational areas and facilities, and supports the establishment of greenbelt areas in both public and private sectors.

Activities

The Boston Harbor Association organizes several community events, including an annual July 3rd Fireworks Show, a September potluck, and a neighborhood garage sale. These activities aim to enhance local community spirit and connectivity.

Governance

The organization is governed by a board of nine volunteers who are elected annually. This board oversees various neighborhood projects and works to preserve the peaceful rural lifestyle of the Boston Harbor area by protecting local history, natural history, and wildlife.

Mission

The mission of the Boston Harbor Association includes advocating for the local community's interests, preserving its natural and historical heritage, and engaging residents in activities that foster a vibrant neighborhood environment.
