Tehachapi Performing Arts Center Foundation

Follow Message Edit

The Organization exists to promote community awareness of the need for, and to raise funds to construct, a performing arts center for a community of approximately 40,000 people. The performing arts center once constructed will be used by local schools and non-profit organizations to present cultural and performing arts events within our community. Along with a performing arts venue, there will be an historical museum which will house the history and culture of the Kawaiisu Indians, the geologic history of the Tehachapi Mountains, an Old-time Fiddling exhibit, a wind energy exhibit, and a brief history of the historic Tehachapi Railroad. It will also include a reception/rehearsal hall for a variety of community events. It will be a LEED certified Green Building with energy being supplied by wind turbines and solar panels. There will be water-wise landscaping along with energy efficient and environmentally friendly building materials throughout. A complete record of all materials used will be maintained for others who wish to "go green."
