Happy Spring! Each year we open the annual L.I.F.E. Foundation Survivor Grant to new applicants on the first day of spring, which began this week! Over the next several months we’ll be on the lookout for applications from patients, social workers, and caregivers. This year’s recipients will be carefully selected and notified on or around July 17th, which was Eric’s birthday. If you know someone struggling that meets the criteria, please encourage them or a social worker at their care facility to apply at https://givetolife.org/survivor-grant/ Because L.I.F.E. has no overhead costs, we are able to maximize the number of people that can be helped. Thank you for all of your support! (fb)

Zane Mabry is a 26-year-old from South Bend, Indiana and normally enjoys playing ice hockey, football, tennis, and going on hikes with his wife. While applying to graduate school programs last year, he wound up in the hospital on Christmas eve with a tumor in his chest and was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. When his social worker first reached out to us on his behalf, he was receiving regular IV chemotherapy and was unable to work. With his treating hospital being a 3-hour round trip drive from home, travel expenses were mounting quickly also. Thanks to our gracious donors, we were able to provide some financial assistance and ease that burden. Since then, Zane been doing really well. He has been back to work for over 2 months, is now on maintenance chemo, and is seemingly cancer-free! Once he overcomes all of this, he plans to complete his graduate studies, and then go into teaching! We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday week, and thank you for keeping the true spirit of Thanksgiving. 🙂 https://givetolife.org/zane-mabry-2024-survivor-grant-recipient/ (fb)
