On this day in 2010, Detroit, MI native CDR Dominic “Tony” Antonelli (USN, Ret.) landed on STS-132 Atlantis. This was Tony’s second and final flight into space, during which he served as pilot. During their 11 days in space, the crew installed the Russian built Mini Research Module 1 to the International Space Station. Atlantis ended its penultimate spaceflight with a touchdown at 8:48am EDT at Kennedy Space Center’s Shuttle Landing Facility after spending 11 days, 18 hours, 29 minutes and 9 seconds off the planet. During this time they travelled 7,724,851 miles. (fb)
