What does collaboration mean? Over 800 students from CCSD's CTE program came out for our Medical Career Expo. Thanks to incredible partnerships, we connected employers with students entering the healthcare workforce this year. Additionally, the afternoon session brought people from the current labor market to help them find the next step in their careers! We would like to recognize the fantastic partners that came together on this project! CCSD Career and Technical Education - All of the Administrators and teachers who brought the students and made it happen. University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and John Packham - Donated 600 Workforce books to hand out to students to help guide them on their career path. Hilton Grand Vacations and Shannon Weldon, who heads our Career Fair Taskforce, worked tirelessly on planning this event and got donated lunch bags and snacks for all the employers. College of Southern Nevada and CSN Division of Workforce & Economic Development (DWED) - Donated space for us to put on this event at no cost. The invaluable support of CSN allows us to continue bringing innovative approaches to building an actual healthcare workforce pipeline! Goodwill of Southern Nevada and Ultimate Fighting Championship - Donated lunch for employers and had career counselors speaking to students about next steps! EmployNV Youth Hub - On-Site with grant resources for students and job seekers Vegas PBS - Thanks to licensing agreements, students were/are able to access the Jobtimize Portal, allowing them to identify skills and find the right career path for them. Comagine Health and Desert Meadows AHEC - Nicole E. Hudson, Ed.D., SHRM-SCP, CWDP was present to help push students to consider the next steps in their healthcare career! All of the employers and educators! - Were able to speak with students about careers to groups of kids at a time due to the number of students present. Then, stayed to interview and speak with candidates in the afternoon. At HEALS, we have spoken about collaborative projects that make meaningful impacts to our workforce shortage. It was even more incredible to watch it come together. We are grateful to all the members who help maintain Las Vegas HEALS.
