It was such a special afternoon. We met the AMAZING Martha Magan maybe 7 years ago when she stopped by Rising's office to show us a bumper sticker she made. She said the National Trafficking Hotline didn't have a bumper sticker, and so she made one! We instantly fell in love with this spunky 88 year old. A group of us went to lunch today, many from the AAUW Santa Cruz County - CA Branch, to celebrate and acknowledge Martha, one of their members. Julie Schneider a victims advocate with S.C.P.D and Executive Committee member of Coalition to End Human Trafficking was there too! We surprised Martha with an Award of Recognition from Assemblymember Gail Pellerin!!! It reads, "In honor of your unwavering determination to end human trafficking and your steadfast support of survivors. Your commitment, compassion, and courage make a lasting impact in the fight for freedom and justice." We love you Martha Mangan! You're an inspiration to us all! (fb)
