Muslim Athletic League

The Muslim Athletic League (MAL) is a registered tax-exempt 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in the United States. The organization aims to use sports as a tool to bridge cultural and religious barriers, primarily between Muslims and non-Muslims.

Mission

The mission of the Muslim Athletic League is centered on promoting diversity and unity through sports. By organizing intercommunity tournaments, MAL seeks to become a leader in fostering connections among Muslim and non-Muslim youths. History and Operations

The Muslim Athletic League was founded by Odsen "Hudson" Piton, who serves as both the founder and CEO. Piton, a convert to Islam, combines his passion for community outreach and sports through MAL. The organization offers year-round seasons in sports like basketball, soccer, baseball, and football, open to young men aged 13 and above. Participation is not limited to Muslims, as part of the league's mission is to build friendships between people of various faiths and ethnic backgrounds.

Impact and Goals

MAL's programs have been met with positive feedback from participants, who see the organization as a platform for unity and cultural exchange. The league's ultimate goal is to grow into an institution similar to the YMCA, providing a network of facilities and programs that promote positive youth experiences under Islamic values of peace and brotherhood. The founder has plans to expand MAL significantly, including acquiring its own facilities and securing sponsorships to support its growth.
