Kids on the Farm is taking a hiatus for the summer, but we're thrilled to start a new summer program next week! Picnic and Playtime starts Monday, June 9th - the historic buildings will be open for self-guided exploration, and kids can discover the joys of unstructured, child-led play in a beautiful outdoor setting. Free and drop in. More info here: https://schumacherfarmpark.org/picnic-playtime-at-the-park (fb)

Another Summer workshop is scheduled! Join Master Gardener, Gae Bergmann, as she talks about the life of a Monarch butterfly and conservation efforts. After the presentation, we will search for Monarch eggs and caterpillars around the farmyard gardens and along prairie edges. Free, but RSVPs are recommended: https://schumacherfarmpark.org/monarch-conservation (fb)

This40acre farmstead called Schumacher Farm Park was gifted to the Dane County Parks Commission in 1978 by Marcella Schumacher Pendall the only child of Henry Schumacher. The original farmhouse and barn built by Henry Schumacher in 1908 are accompanied by outbuildings of the same era donated to the park from local farms. The property features trails through a 10acre restored prairie that sits on a hilltop with a beautiful view of Waunakee and even a glimpse of the State Capitol Building.
