ADOPTABLE: Arrow (Kwik Arrow) 100% NGA greyhound female. Born 12/17/2022; red fawn. 61 pounds of love and sleekness. Cat trainable – showed little interest in the adult cat when tested at Wheeling Kennel, instead showed more interest in the humans. We pre-adopted Arrow, and she went home last Friday. However, her first adopter had also recently brought a very small, young frisky kitty into the home that Arrow went to. As you can imagine, the kitty temptation was too much! Previous experience required with NGA greyhounds (adopting or fostering), also fenced yard. Arrow is a petite, sleek little greyhound and has the cutest, tiniest head. Arrow is a dog with a medium energy level, who likes to play but knows how and when to calm down. She had more interest in people than other dogs when back at the kennel, though she would play with them if another dog instigated. Arrow does well on leash walking, and plays with her toys. In her very short adoption time, she already understood not to go to the bathroom in the house. She will gently jump up on you to give you a hug, she does not yet understand to keep all her paws on the floor! Arrow is super sweet though and would try to fit herself on your lap so you can hug her and give her all the love. She rides well in a car. Arrow had a short racing career – 18 races with only 1 win. Nellie (Mama "Nellie" , racing name Nellie Who): Last night I was tested, and I am what you call "cat workable". Or "cat trainable". I showed interest in all the cats, but the volunteers were able to successfully redirect her. Especially after I got one big hiss and a swat out from the little kitten. I did NOT like that! I had my muzzle on of course, but I still decided not to get even. So I am "cat workable / cat trainable" .... but I still need proper introductions and patience from an adopter. When I went to the vet last week, I ignored the smaller dogs. Then I saw a greyhound and barked at him! I am going to spend a weekend at the Greyhound Resort. (Mama “Nellie” is a sweet, happy, black female BROOD MAMA! A field trial greyhound (a mix, a lurcher). She was born May 1, 2015. Nellie is 10-years-old, and 60 pounds. She had 2 or 3 litters of pups.
