The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in honor of Stephen Gerard Siller, a firefighter from the New York Fire Department (FDNY) who lost his life during the September 11 attacks in 2001. Stephen Siller's actions on September 11, 2001, serve as the foundation's inspiration. Off-duty at the time, Siller heard about the World Trade Center attack on his scanner. He drove to the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, donned his 60 pounds of fire gear, and ran to the World Trade Center site to assist his colleagues. His heroic actions that day ultimately led to his death, among 343 FDNY members who lost their lives.
