Today we announced the selection of a consortium led by Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) and Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) to design and operate the cutting-edge innovation hub "BATWorks” at the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park. This world-class hub will catalyze climate tech innovation, create over 600 jobs, support 150 startups, and generate $2.6B in economic impact, over 10 years, while providing workforce training to prepare New Yorkers for the green jobs of the future. NYCEDC also awarded $1.4M to the Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Corporation to lead an economic mobility network in Sunset Park, aimed at creating jobs for residents.
