It started with a simple question: 👉 “Do you have something like this for girls?” From that moment, the Urban Scholars Young Women’s Program (YWP) was born—an intentional, transformative space where young women of color are not only supported, but celebrated, empowered, and equipped to lead. YWP has grown into a dynamic program reaching students across LAUSD, Inglewood Unified, and Antelope Valley Union school districts. With credit-bearing courses, culturally rooted curriculum, and a foundation of sisterhood, YWP is about more than education—it’s about liberation, leadership, and legacy. YWP offers: ✅ Critical conversations on race, identity & justice ✅ Lasting sisterhoods grounded in support and solidarity ✅ Leadership training & skills ✅ Culturally relevant, trauma-informed curriculum ✅ Small cohorts that foster trust, voice, and leadership ✅ Hands-on experiences: college tours, guest speakers, creative expression 💫 Throughout the year, students asked bold questions, challenged systems, and showed up for themselves and each other. The result? Growth. Voice. Power. 💪🏽 As we expand, we carry forward the vision that sparked it all: Every young woman of color deserves to be seen, heard, and empowered. Because when girls rise, we all rise. 💥 Last year, your donations helped support the college and career journeys of our first cohort of young men. This year, you have the chance to do it again. When you contribute to our 2025 Urban Scholars Scholarship Fund, you’re helping students access tuition, housing, books, transportation, career development, and the resources they need to pursue their purpose with confidence. 👉🏽 Donate today at tinyurl.com/SJLI-Fund! . . . #UrbanScholars #YoungWomensProgram #GirlsOfColor #BlackGirlMagic #LatinaExcellence #CulturallyResponsiveEducation #YouthEmpowerment #LeadershipDevelopment #WomenInTheMaking #SisterhoodStrong #EducationEquity #GenZLeaders #GirlsWithVision #SheLeads #RepresentationMatters #SocialJusticeInEducation #SJLI #FutureIsFemale #YouthVoices #BreakingBarriers #BlackAndBrownExcellence (fb)

🎒💼 Introducing: Bag Builders – Where purpose meets preparation. Bag Builders is SJLI’s innovative workforce readiness program designed to help Urban Scholars alumni transition from school to career with confidence, clarity, and direction. Through self-discovery, personality assessments, and career alignment tools like Ikigai, Myers-Briggs, Holland Career Test, and more, participants uncover who they are—and where they’re going. 🔍 Using AI platforms, we deliver personalized career analyses that help participants identify top career paths tailored to their unique strengths and interests. 💡 What participants receive: ✅ Soft skills training ✅ Resume building ✅ Mock interviews & applications ✅ Financial literacy education ✅ $500 stipend upon completion With two successful cohorts completed and the third launching soon, Bag Builders has already helped alumni land jobs and step into their purpose. Most graduates are now employed and thriving in their career paths. Our hybrid format (virtual + in-office sessions) allows flexibility while keeping support strong. We also check in post-employment to ensure continued success. So, what’s next? We're building out job shadowing, career panels & fairs, and Internships with partners like LA Black Worker Center, who offer paid 6-week city job internships! 💛 Your donations over the years have powered programs like Bag Builders. Now, you can continue what you started. 🎓 Support the #ClassOf2025 by donating to our Scholarship Fund—covering tuition, books, housing, transportation, and career development for students ready to lead. 👉 Donate today: tinyurl.com/SJLI-Fund #BagBuilders #GetTheBag #UrbanScholars #SJLI #CareerReady #WorkforceDevelopment #SelfDiscovery #PurposeDriven #Ikigai #FutureLeaders #YouthEmpowerment #CollegeToCareer #CareerPathways #SupportYouth #EducationEquity #DonateToday #MakeADifference #ChangeMakers #HybridLearning #MentorshipMatters #CommunityImpact (fb)
