George Sugarman (1912–1999) was a groundbreaking artist who pioneered pedestal-free sculpture and experimented extensively with vividly painted metal sculptures. Throughout his career, Sugarman was dedicated to the well-being and development of young, innovative artists. Prior to his passing, he included in his will provisions for the establishment of The George Sugarman Foundation, Inc. to carry out this mission.
