Cayuga Museum
The Cayuga of History and Art in Auburn, NY has a dual focus - local history and the invention of sound film. We provide a forum for the public to realize, interact with and appreciate Cayuga County's shared past and unfolding present to help shape a better future. We create exhibits and educational programs for diverse audiences that foster dialogue and understanding. The Museum collects and preserves objects and archives that document Cayuga County's past. We are housed in the 1836 Willard-Case Mansion and maintain the estate which includes Theodore Case's original laboratory. We preserve and promote the international legacy of the Case Research Lab, birthplace of talking movies. The Cayuga Museum contributes to the economic vitality of our community and region by actively participating in cultural education initiatives and heritage tourism.
