Friends of Flutes Foundation ("FFF") gives grants to flute majors in (or recently graduated from) conservatories, universities and colleges, including those seeking Master and Doctorate degrees in flute performance. Grantees must be preparing to become professional musicians or music educators. The grants are for the "extras" that aspiring flutists need to pursue their careers, such as master classes, travel expenses for auditions and competitions, advanced lessons or even a flute repair. Our mission is to help our grantees to become professional musicians and our hope is that they will in the future become part of orchestras, chamber music groups, period instrument ensembles, jazz and other music groups, as well as, in some cases, become concert soloists in classical and other music genres.
