Last week, our Sarabanks (WISALAs in Tanzania) were recognized as the Best Microfinance Group for Social and Economic Impact at an event hosted by Malkia wa Arusha (CEO's gathering) at the Grand Melia Hotel in Arusha. Coming from rural communities, the women arrived in the traditional attire with a message: women can do business, and do it well. They celebrated the spirit of women supporting each other in business as the means of fighting exploitative culture This wasn’t just about one group winning—it was about changing perceptions. In a place where business has long been seen as a man’s domain, women are stepping forward, supporting each other, and proving what’s possible when they decide to act on their dreams. “If there’s a place to wave the GFW flag - we go and wave it strong.
