Founded in 1912, NJSACOP is committed to promoting high ethical and professional standards among New Jersey's law enforcement agencies.

History

The association was officially established with its first meeting at the Newark Court House on February 12, 1912. Since its inception, the organization has grown to become a significant force in law enforcement development across New Jersey.

  • NJSACOP Command & Leadership Academy: This initiative focuses on developing effective leadership and command skills among police professionals.
  • NJSACOP Police Executive Institute: A program designed to further refine the executive abilities of law enforcement leaders.
  • ACE COP (Accredited Chief/Command Executive) Program: A certification scheme aimed at elevating professional standards by assessing experience, education, management training, and collaboration. It replaces the former Certified Chief Law Enforcement Executive Program (CCLEEP).
  • Joint Police Chiefs Forums and International Collaborations: NJSACOP collaborates with entities like the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police and the UK's College of Policing to host international leadership seminars.
