This Parkinson’s Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the Parkinson’s Tulip—an international symbol of hope, strength, and perseverance for those living with Parkinson’s disease. 🌷 The red and white tulip was introduced in 1980 by Dutch horticulturist J.W.S. Van der Wereld, who himself had Parkinson’s disease. He named the tulip "Dr. James Parkinson" in honor of the physician who first described the disease in 1817. Since then, the tulip has become a powerful symbol of awareness, research, and fundraising efforts, especially during Parkinson’s Awareness Month. It’s a reminder of the strength of the Parkinson’s community and the ongoing fight for a cure. #ParkinsonAssociationOfAlabama #ParkinsonsAwareness #ParkinsonsTulip #ParkinsonsDisease #ParkinsonsCommunity #AwarenessMonth #SupportParkinsons #ParkinsonsResearch (fb)
