** Update: Josie’s foster is in love with her, so it’s looking like she’s found her happily ever after! ** Josie is an adorable chocolate mini poodle who weighs around 10 lbs and is approximately 1 year old. She was the product of a Missouri puppy mill who never sold. So luckily the breeder was willing to surrender her to rescue. We think the reason she hadn’t sold could be that her teeth were in need of help. Her lower canines dug into the roof of her mouth whenever she chewed and her upper teeth were really crowded. So, during her spay surgery our vet removed her lower canines and relieved the crowded upper teeth. She’s all healed up and much happier with her smile. 😊 Josie is the sweetest pup who is learning very quickly how nice living in a home can be. She’s very sweet, submissive, playful, still a bit timid, and adores the other dogs in her foster home. She loves sleeping with her foster mom too, and is a good snuggler. She is improving on her house training a lot, but needs someone who will be patient if she has an accident. Josie’s ideal forever home will have one or more other dogs who will enjoy playing with her. Her favorite snuggle buddy in her foster home is an older boy who isn’t particularly snuggly with other dogs, but curled up next to him is her comfort spot when she’s not playing or lying next to a human asking for belly rubs. She’s still learning to “dog” and is still quite puppyish, so experienced dog owners are preferred. Due to her timid nature with too much chaos, an adult home is also preferred. If Josie sounds like the girl for you, please fill out an online application on our web page (cominischnauzerrescue.com), and if we already have your application, or you have previously adopted from us, just let us know your interest. She’s fully vetted and vaccinated and recovered from her surgeries, so it’s time to find her forever home! (fb)

** Update!! ** Tomy has been adopted!! My name is Tomy and I was rescued from running the streets in Mexico as a stray. I am a tripod, which means that I only have 3 legs. The vet examined me when I came to Colorado, but she couldn’t tell if I was born without my right front lower leg, or if I had lost it in an accident. Doesn’t really matter ‘cause I get along just fine without it and sometimes I get extra attention and treats. I am only about 2 years old, and I only weigh about 15 pounds, so I am a little guy. I seem to be mostly house trained, ‘cept sometimes I have an accident over night. I like to run around and sniff in the fenced in yard. It is a lot of fun and sometimes I find a good stick. I am a little timid from being out on the streets. It was scary out there. I came into rescue with a little girl dog. I depended on her a lot on the streets to tell me what was safe, where to find food and where to sleep at night. I would like to have a companion dog in my new home to teach me all the stuff I missed growing up. I would also like a home where the people are there a lot, maybe retired, or working from home since I get anxious when I’m alone. I like to spend a lot of time with my people, on their laps or getting lots of petting and attention. I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and microchipped. I had something called dental surgery where they cleaned my teeth and took out one of my baby teeth that didn’t come out by itself. If you would like to meet me, go to www.cominischnauzerrescue.com and complete the on-line adoption application. You should print a copy of the application before you hit the “submit” button, just in case! The rescue lady will give you a call to set up a time to bring me for a visit. (fb)
