DOING GOOD WORKS WEDNESDAY Señora Sandra Kantor, Upper School Spanish teacher, has been collaborating over the last several years with The Pulsera Project to organize a pulsera sale at Valley School. The Pulsera Project is a fair-trade non-profit organization that educates, empowers, and connects Central American artists with students in more than 4,000 U.S. schools through the sale of colorful handwoven bracelets, known as “pulseras” in the Spanish language. The Pulsera Project brightens schools with art and compelling cultural education while employing Guatemalan and Nicaraguan artisans and investing proceeds to create lasting change in their communities. This year, the Upper School student volunteers assisted Señora Kantor with selling pulseras (handmade bracelets) and bolsitas (handwoven purses). Valley School’s fundraiser for The Pulsera Project was a major success.
