The Sheriwood Foundation, Inc., exists to assist and motivate disadvantaged schools and students to support the growing problem of illiteracy. We do this by donating funds, books, time and supplies to help increase interest and enthusiasm in reading and writing (literacy) among children and young adults. Additionally: • Each year, the Board members select specific US charities and provide donations to them from your tax-deductable contributions. • We stimulate interest, appreciation and better understanding of literary works, with a focus on JRR Tolkien’s writings, through various media, but primarily through the virtual world of Second Life
