The building was designed by architects Frankel and Curtis of Lexington, Kentucky, and was constructed at a cost of $73,081 on the site of a small house where Fohs had once resided. Initially, it was donated to the Marion Board of Education to function as a community center and auxiliary building for Marion High School, which was situated across the street.

Facilities and Programs

The hall features a music room, a lounge, a study hall, a small library, classrooms, and an auditorium. It is home to several community programs and performances, including "Classy & Grassy" and "The Old Kentucky Hayride." Additionally, the Community Arts Foundation (CAF) produces performances at the venue.

Historic Significance

Fohs Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, recognizing its architectural and cultural significance in the community.
