Housing Action Illinois is a statewide coalition working to make sure everyone in Illinois has a safe, affordable place to call home. Housing Action Illinois is a statewide network of 160+ organizations united in the belief that everyone deserves a good home, and we've been leading the movement for affordable housing in Illinois for more than 30 years. Our members include housing counseling agencies, homeless service providers, developers of affordable housing and policymakers. Housing Action brings everyone together to advocate for laws and policies that protect renters and homeowners and help end homelessness; trains and offers one-on-one support to housing counselors and developers; and educates decision makers, the media, and the public about issues related to housing.

Housing Action Illinois | Housing Action Illinois mobilizes organizations to end homelessness increase affordable rental housing and expand homeownership opportunities. For more than 35 years we have brought together member organizations from across Illinois united in our vision of expanding affordable housing and ending homelessness. Our members include housing counseling agencies homeless service providers developers of affordable housing and policymakers. Our work has led to tens of thousands of new homes being built hundreds of thousands of people going from housing insecurity or homelessness to having stable homes and millions of renters gaining better protections.

Thank you to everyone who attended our discussion on housing and aging yesterday. We’re grateful to our partners—DuPage and Chicago South Suburbs Habitat for Humanity, BEDS Plus , Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity , and AgeOptions—for helping lead such an important conversation. Together, we explored the growing challenges facing older adults, from rising homelessness to the need for resources that support aging in place, and how we can advocate for solutions.
