BIRDING HIKE! This Saturday, May 31 7 AM The Friends of Rib Mountain State Park invite the public to hike and explore the glory of Rib Mountain State Park and enjoy the birds that live and nest there. Members of the Wausau Bird Club will be leading this hike, and the Friends of Rib Mountain State Park hope to see you there. You will be amazed at the great birds that thrive at Rib Mountain State Park. Binoculars can be helpful if you have them. This Saturday Hike will begin at the Park trailhead located at W1480 Grouse Lane (drive south from Hwy NN) , and will last for approximately 1 1/2 hr. Hikers should bring water and tick repellent, and be prepared to hike some uneven trails with downhill and uphill areas. Located in Wausau Wisconsin we invite you to experience all that Rib Mountain has to offer take a stroll up Park Road hike the many trails the park has to offer climb the observation tower for a fantastic view of the surrounding area come listen to our summer concerts or attend one of our many naturalist programs about wildlife or area history. And please contact the Friends of Rib Mountain State Park if you have program or event suggestions or would like to join the Friends group. The Friends of Rib Mountain is a group of volunteers working in collaboration with the DNR to improve preserve and promote Rib Mountain State Park.
