Illinois Health Maintenance Organization Guaranty Association
The purpose of the Association is defined in chapter 215, Article VI of the Illinois Health Maintenance Organization Act, which is to "protect enrollees of health care plans who reside in this state, and their beneficiaries, payees and assignees, subject to certain limitations, against failure in the performance of contractual obligations due to the impairment or insolvency of the organization operating such health care plans".
