National Library Week 2025 begins today, and this year’s theme is “Drawn to the Library!” People have been going to libraries for a very long time. This photo, from our Barbara A. Porter collection, shows the Library of Celsus, which was built in the ancient Roman city of Ephesus (Turkey) in the 2nd century CE and once housed more than 12,000 scrolls. Libraries are special places—here you can study, write, access the internet, engage with other people in your community (and from beyond it), get inspired, and, of course, find and read books! They also offer academic journals, maps, archival resources of many kinds, and much else, including knowledgeable librarians. We would love to learn what draws YOU to the ACOR Library.
