Pittsburgh New Works Festival is dedicated to fostering the development of original one-act plays. The Pittsburgh New Works Festival, Inc. is a non-profit organization with a mission of encouraging and supporting the writing and production of original one-act plays. For 20 plus years, PNWF has served as an umbrella organization, pooling the talents and rich resources of western Pennsylvania's emerging theater community and playwrights from across North America in a series of collaborative activities. These partnerships add to PNWF's mission by contributing to Pittsburgh's cultural venue at an affordable price.

Pittsburgh New Works Festival Celebrating 33 Years of New Plays 34th Annual Pittsburgh New Works Festival submissions are now open. The Pittsburgh New Works Festival PNWF is now accepting oneact plays that have never before been produced. Up to sixteen oneact plays will be selected to be performed for the festivals 34th seasonwhich begins in September. Playwrights whose plays are selected for production in the festival will be offered a small honorarium.
