The mission of the Allegheny Brass Band, an ensemble of volunteer musicians, is to entertain and educate the public to the instrumentation and style of British-style brass bands and to encourage a greater appreciation of British and American brass band traditions. ABB does cooperate with other arts groups and organizations to promote and provide opportunities for both musicians and audience members to enhance their enjoyment of the brass band experience. Allegheny Brass Band has entered into a "partnership" with the VA Hospitals to provide free entertainment to their patients and reduced fee concerts to various veteran organizations. We have also established a working relationship with the Woodlands Foundation to support their music therapy services to handicapped individuals and to provide free concerts. It is the belief of the Allegheny Brass Band that no one should ever be denied the opportunity to hear "live" music due to any financial, physical, or logistical limitations. To foster this belief, we do not charge the listening public to attend any of our concerts and we bring the band to them instead of having them travel.
