THE PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO BUILD AN ENRICHING EDUCATIONAL SETTING FOR UNDER-SERVED BROOKLYN YOUTH, USING ATHLETICS AS A VEHICLE TO INSPIRE THEM TO FULFILL THEIR ACADEMIC, PHYSICAL, AND PERSONAL POTENTIAL. BKYSC IS DRIVEN BY AN ETHICAL IMPERATIVE TO INSTILL VALUES OF INTEGRITY, PERSEVERANCE, SELF-ESTEEM, AND HARD WORK TO EMPOWER STUDENT-ATHLETES TO BE LEADERS IN SCHOOL, ON THE COURT AND IN THE COMMUNITY.

Using Basketball as a Hook We tap into kids passion for basketball to inspire excellence off the court and in the classroom. Hitting the books before the gym We always have and always will stick to the commitment that academics come first. In order to step foot in the gym all BKYSC participants must attend mandatory academic sessions.
