Me rastin e Ditës Botërore të Sindromës Down, organizohet një event nga Qendra Jonathan këtu në New York. “ Dita Botëtore e Down Sindromë” organizuar nga Qendra Jonathan në: Producers Club - 358 West 44 Street New York NY 10036 Saturday, March 22nd, 2024 @11 Am Qendra Jonathan prej vitit 2008 mbështet fëmijët me Sindromën Down dhe diagnoza të ndryshme përmes terapive dhe shërbimeve të ndryshme. Themeluesja e Qendrës Jonathan, Oreada Kita, do të tregojë për historinë mbi 16-vjeçare të punës së tyre në këtë event, duke prezantuar raste suksesi, sfida, arritje dhe problematika që personat me Sindromën Down dhe familjet e tyre ende hasin në Shqipëri. Qendra Jonathan ngre zërin për problematika të ndryshme në Ditën Botërore të Sindromës Down dhe këtë vit Tema është "Përmirësoni Sistemet Tona Mbështetëse". Mbase edhe pse larg, ne mund të kontribuojmë sadopak në fuqizimin e punës së tyre sepse në fund të fundit Zemra për Mëmëdhenë është sistemi më i fuqishëm! Albanian American Womens Organization Motrat Qiriazi AAWO would provide the needed safe place where women could combat the isolation they experienced living in a foreign culture and become more empowered through the sharing of their experiences. The organization is named after the Sisters Qiriazi the first Albanian women educators who dedicated their lives to the education and empowerment of Albanian women. More than 100 years ago Sisters Qiriazi opened the first school for girls in Albania and continue to be an inspiration for the struggle to achieve full and equal rights for women. For years AAWO has been run entirely by volunteers and its 500 dedicated members both in terms of leadership and project implementation.
