A Little Something is a crafts cooperative created by and for refugee women in Metro Denver. Together, we help refugee women achieve self-sufficiency and build community through the beauty of handmade crafts. We are a 501c(3) nonprofit organization. Refugee women living in Colorado face many challenges, among them the often daunting task of achieving self-sufficiency. By forming a crafts cooperative, these remarkable women are pooling their talents, skills and creativity to earn money for themselves while adding a little beauty to the world. From ideas to enterprise, the women in the project are mentored and supported by dedicated friends, teachers, and advocates throughout the community. Participants meet not only to create crafts together, but also to support each other as newcomers, mothers, wives— and simply as women. The women in the program earn 75 percent of the selling price of their items.
