Originally performed in the Wilks Studio in 2022, "Cabaret of Hope: Warsaw 1941" is a powerful Cincinnati Opera production that recreates the vibrant cabaret scene of the Warsaw Ghetto. Against unimaginable circumstances, Jewish poets, singers, and musicians created art that lifted spirits and preserved culture. This moving performance features works by George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Kurt Weill, and others, as well as poetry from the era. Featuring: Sarah Folsom (vocalist), Victoria Okafor (soprano), Simon Barrad (baritone), Thomas Dreeze (baritone), Polina Bespalko (piano), Matthew Umphreys (piano), and Christina Haan (accordionist).
