From Crying Alone to Fighting for Her Future🫶 We wanted to share an update on Petal, our fluffball who came to us with severe eye issues. She was just 3 weeks old when a kind stranger found her crying outside, alone and in pain. Her eyes were badly infected, and she was so small we weren’t sure she’d make it. But the moment she arrived at our doors, we saw something special — a spark. ✨ Today, that spark is a full-on flame! Her eye infection has cleared up, and she is no longer in pain. Thanks to the quick action of our medical team and her foster, she is back to her playful, silly self. She purrs the second she’s pet. She bats at toys with her wobbly little paws. She climbs into laps and snuggles up close. 🐾 Although she is back to her bubbly self, after a visit to Mount Laurel Animal Hospital for a consultation with both ophthalmology and neurology, we’ve confirmed that Petal will eventually need a double enucleation (removal of both eyes). While the infection has cleared, unfortunately, the damage was too severe. For now, she is receiving supportive care to keep her comfortable and happy until she’s old enough for surgery. Despite everything she’s been through, Petal continues to thrive. She’s curious, affectionate, and absolutely fearless — she doesn’t let her limited vision slow her down one bit. 💪 But she isn’t quite out of the woods yet. We were able to take care of all of her medical bills and treatment up until now, but we need your help to bolster our Lifesaver Fund so that we can cover her surgery and recovery.
