Rebuild Hope
Rebuild Hope helps the families of severely disabled Iraq and Afghanistan veterans overcome government-created financial hardships and build stable and healthy civilian lives and engages individual Americans in a collective effort to support them. Veterans typically wait more than 270 days for merited monthly compensation – far longer than the Veterans Administration (VA) 120-day standard. Meanwhile, veterans live in unexpected poverty, and incidents of homelessness, abuse, addictions, social isolation and broken marriages are common. Rebuild Hope delivers financial education, counseling and assistance nationwide to severely disabled veterans and offers them targeted referrals to other sources of essential services. Rebuild Hope reduces emergency hardships, improves household financial decision-making and increases the odds families can survive long delays in their merited disability income.
