One year into our Food Access Initiative, we're seeing the power of collaboration in addressing food insecurity in Cambridge. Eight nonprofit partners have deepened their work together, with a 10% increase in capacity to create welcoming environments, offer healthy choices, and connect residents to resources. Through a combined $1.9 million multi-year investment, we're supporting partners as they transform from emergency response organizations into vital resource hubs for families. Together, we're creating both immediate solutions and long-term pathways to address hunger in our community. #FoodSecurity #Cambridge #CommunityImpact #Collaboration #EconomicMobility Cambridge Economic Opportunity Committee, Daily Table, East End House, Food For Free, Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House, Mass Farmers Markets, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, Cambridge Community Center (fb)

This week at the Google offices in Kendall Square, Cambridge nonprofit leaders gathered to discuss the future of our city's nonprofit ecosystem. CCF Chief of Staff Elizabeth Patton revealed that while our nonprofit sector—ranging from grassroots organizations to our city's universities and hospitals—collectively generates $15B in revenue annually, organizations face significant headwinds with declining revenues and rising expenses. Cambridge Nonprofit Coalition's survey highlighted growing community needs, with 68% of nonprofits seeing increased demand for services. As pandemic-era funding sunsets, our nonprofit community needs continued strong partnerships between the public, private and philanthropic sectors. Thank you to Google for hosting this important conversation. Learn more about the state of Cambridge's nonprofit sector and our commitment to strengthening it: (fb)
