Become A Member Our Conservation Mission We are a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the Whitfield Wildlife Conservation Area by promoting habitat restoration education and conservation. We encourage the public to visit the Whitfield see some wildlife and learn something about the diversity of plants and animals that call this place home. Our History In April of 2003 the Valencia Soil and Water Conservation District acquired through donation the WhitfieldTrammel arm a 97 acre tract of irrigated land bordered on the west by the Rio Grande and surrounded by mixed agricultural and residential properties. The land has since been put into a permanent conservation easement with the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Services Wetlands Reserve Program WRP.
