What would make a difference for your child? The What I Wish for My Child initiative from The IMAGE Center and VME turns possibilities into reality with one-of-a-kind solutions. Each year, we invite families, caregivers, educators, and others to submit a custom device “wish” for a child with developmental or cognitive disabilities. After learning about the child’s needs and strengths, our team crafts a personalized device designed to bring joy and support greater independence. Who can apply? - Children and young adults ages 2 to 21 - Applicants can include parents, caregivers, teachers, occupational and physical therapists, social workers, or even a thoughtful neighbor - The recipient must have a cognitive, developmental, and/or physical disability - Must reside in one of these areas: Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Calvert County, Frederick County, Harford County, Howard County, Prince George's County, Montgomery County, or Washington, DC Our talented team of volunteer engineers and healthcare professionals is ready to bring your child’s “wish” to life.
