Himalayan Youth Foundation (HYF) is an American based non-profit foundation that supports education projects for underprivileged children from remote regions of the Himalayas. HYF projects provide basic necessities like housing, food, clothing, and medical care along with education and lifelong mentorship. The Foundation is committed to providing our children with the learning tools and job skills necessary to raise the quality of life for themselves and for their communities. While all of our children receive the best academic education possible, they are also provided a strong foundation in their historical traditions and crafts. It is HYF's goal, the children relay this knowledge to improve quality of life of their communities and help facilitate a bright future for the world at large.

Welcome to Himalayan Youth Foundation a nonprofit organization supporting underprivileged children from the Himalayas What We Do Housing for up to 100 children at Kailash Home in Kathmandu Nepal Cultural Pride with a focus on the traditional arts and crafts Education through our partner schools in Nepal and Bhutan Connection between our global community of sponsors children and graduates The HYF Story Officially founded in 2002 Himalayan Youth Foundation began many years prior when Tashi Gurung and David Bidwell with the help of the Greendale Foundation established the Himalayan Childrens Foundation HCF in Kathmandu Nepal. After meeting on a trek to Mustang in 1999 David and HYF cofounder and current President Micheline Kramer decided to harness their mutual love for both the country and people of Nepal. Their initial efforts led to the growth of HCF and the creation of Kailash Home.
