LOISAIDA INC
Loisaida, Inc. is a Puerto Rican multidisciplinary arts and culture community development organization founded in 1978. The Loisaida Center is a Puerto Rican/Latiné based multi-disciplinary entity located in the eastern downtown Manhattan area known as Loisaida. We aspire to build a connection between community, learners, artists and scholars through affordable education opportunities in cultural fields, S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) design and everyday life. Its multi-purpose has become an innovative incubator for self-sustainable entrepreneurial initiatives merging media, arts and social justice. Devoted to collaborative art practices, social engagement and community building through culture, their vision facilitates a mindset of collaboration. Our approach celebrates the urban surroundings, grassroots invention and immigrant spirit of the Loisaida neighborhood.
