It's #AAPIHeritageMonth! Senator Andy Kim became one of New Jersey’s newest Senators in 2024. The son of two immigrant parents, Senator Kim is the first Korean-American to serve in the U.S. Senate, and also New Jersey’s first Asian American senator. Previously, Senator Kim served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing New Jersey from 2019-2024. Joe Kennedy III, former US Special Envoy to Northern Ireland, and Boston College Prof. Mary Murphy explored that question at the Institute.
