The Sports Shed’s mission is to provide quality sports gear and resources to Chicago schools and organizations who lack the funding to provide safe and successful sports programs. We help organizations start, grow and sustain quality sports programming. To date we have helped over 232 programs and over 63,400 students get off the streets and into sports. Studies show that kids who participate in sports develop a healthier mind and body, and are more successful in school. Participation in athletic activities is linked to significantly lower drop out rates, greater civic involvement, and a better chance at moving on to college.
