POW-R SERTOMA CLUB POWR SERTOMA CLUB POWR Sertoma Club The POWR Sertoma Club is a local chapter of Sertoma International a service organization with a single purpose to serve our communities and improve the lives of those who need help Service to Mankind has been the foundation for more than 100 years. POWR was formed in1968 by a large group of local businessmen and is an acronym which stands for the villages of Palos Orland Park Worth and Chicago Ridge. POWR is one of many local Sertoma Chapters throughout the Chicago area. In 1971 members of POWR and two other local Sertoma clubs partnered to start what was known as a sheltered workshop for individuals with disabilities.
